Drama and Young Acting Proffessionals!

I take my hat off to all the young acters and actressess for having the guts to be on air. Their ability to show potential in acting and cinematics should NOT go un recognised.
Yea They do get Annual awards and stuff...thats not what im saying...Im saying give them TRAINING in their feild of work. Send our young actors and actressess to acting school in the west!!!
Maldivians have ht epotential to flourish in artistic talents.
Maybe the young actors should start getting together and satrt fighting for their piece of the cake.
Doctors and engineers are needed but so do we need people in the entertainment field as well..they provide an inexpensive path for relaxation...
SO Maldives hope to see more trained and proffessional actors and peopel working in cinematics and drama in the future...WHO IS GOING TO HELP them along???

FUROLHU: New Dhivehi Album

the new Dhivehi original album Furolhu by Kushehnooney band has been released. Its an album that has been long awaited after their Powerful performance at the original Raalhugandu show.
First of all the cover is quite original with a little reflection of a Pearl Jam album (Yeild), the Tracks are arranged perfectly and seemt o tell a story.
The lyrics are so ordinary and simple at most songs that it is easy and very catchy. The msuic is if i could term it, Rock, and with a sensible amount of distortion on the guitars. The melodies are perfect, almost Beatles like and no pun intended there as the album is mastered at the Famous Abbey Road Studio.
The arrangements are again as perfect as possible, and most songs seem to have a local rhythem to it. Love the chorus on most songs...especially Furolhu. This is a perfect time for an original class record of Maldives to be released.
This group of individuals have been able to combine Hard Rock with local Rhythems.
Over all to constructively criticise... the album good use some strong lyrical songs as well and some songs seem to have not so perfect note singing by the vocalist...
All in all this is a five star deserving Album.
150/- is cheap for local currency and this album is available at Bay watch

Budget Wars!

Ok,12 billion is a large figure...Maldives has one of the highest GDP growth (approx 18 %) which is quite good if u ask any economist...we seem to have quite a big per capita income as well..Our youth have more cash to spend than most young people of their age in neighbouring countries.

I wonder what would happen if we were to hold and invest a lot of that cash in Maldives itself? What if suddenlly book shops, Pharmacys and Bussinesses? what if tourism developed in all the atolls?

What about developing tourist hotels in other islands? What about echo tourism and sea sports options?...We got all this ocean and we dont even participate in international sea sport activities or sports!!! Is it not worth a cause to invest in?

What about the civil society? Strengthening NGO's and CBO's can be one way the governemnt has less work to do!!! Is there a direct budget to spend on developing NGO's?

We have cash we have people but are we ready to do it...in that state of mind yet?

The opppositions parties cry that the budet is not fair on the people...while the Finance Minister claims his duty is to set budget for the comming year alone..no long term thinking...What about the PEOPLE? WHAT DO THE PEOPLE WHANT?

Human Rights Day celebrated by NGO's of Maldives!!!

10th December 2006 was marked as the human rights day and celebrating the day, NGO's working for the rights of people of Maldives had a rally and music show.

More than 200 people seem to have participated in the rally. Its sasd to see that most of the members were people of the opposition party MDP. General ordinary memebrs of the society may have not been aware due to the lack of advertising in the short period of time they did.

Any how it was a grand effort by the NGo's to hold the first "legal" as they advertised. Big hail to the NGO's

Broadcasting Rights!!

Do you ever wonder why Atoll T.V or any other independant media company or organisation has prominantly surfaced in the Maldives? T.V.M seems to be the only form of outlet for T.V and broadcasting artists of Maldives. I am not at all sujjessting that T.V.M is in any way incapable of dealing with independant news broadcasting and providing a stage for the artists of maldives including Movie makers and Musicians.
Does Maldivians require independant media and broadcasting rights? Well atleast the about thirty forms filled in and psoted with Ministry of Information and arts for application of broadcasting rights do say something.
What do you think? Do we need independadnt media stations other than T.V.M?

MUSIC>>>>!!!!

Music is in our soul and in our hearts and with us all the time. Traditionally Maldivians were so into music that we literally used it as a mediate for meditation and reaching a higher state of mind."Vajidhuvun".

Well music defines the culture, and culture evolves through times. People change and life and living standards change as well. Traditional drum and rhythem based music has given way to techno off beat and rap music.

Lyrically quality or content is at an all time low. Bob Dylan has given way to Eminem.

Well im not complaining just stating a fact. Just that some people beleive thta music is no more since there no longer are true rock muscicians and instrument players like Led Zeppelin and Mettalica. I think to beleive thta the present music is not music is out right dumb. The truth is this is the music of our time. Rap and HIp-Hop.

What is" Freedom?"

We the people of Maldives probably ned to look up freedom in a dictionary. There seems to be so muh confusion about the meaning. Or maybe we just dont want some one telling us the meaning of a word that we have never used before.

SO maybe freedom also means a different thing for each individual. Then do we not have a problem? We ould be crossing the freedom border line of another withhout knowing.

Maybe we just follow the set and agreed rules of freedom that we all agree to on a natonal level. Then i wonder what happens to nations with different traditions and beleifs?

I am clueless here?..Any ideas?...

Green Maldives and Dive Maldives!

So many dive sites and locations through out Maldives. World reknown dive locations. The one commodity that keeps the tourists comming. Tourism the life line of the Maldivian economy.

What will Happen if there was a decline in tourism?..Imagine...

I mean if we are not promoting echo tourism and protecting the existing dive sites....Kaboom!!!

Then in a country that depends on a declining water lense and coral reefs and natural water lakes, you dont have to be a geologist to wonder the consequences of not protecting them...

Love in Political Turmoil-Dedicted to Imran (not Imma)

The flag of the nation flys high
The smell of salt in the air and the fish in the market
I can tell that theres still uncertanity every where
I remember my friend who used to cry
He cries for the poeple and he cries in confusion
He is nto the only one
The people of Maldives are in vain, and longing
The fight amongst a group of politicians
Has no place in the calm of Maldives
The harmoney is broken and tears spill
Divisions form amongst families and ruins
Tired of nothing and everythin that is happening
Tired of arrests and seeing blue
But there is a shing light at the end
A light that is going to out shine eveyrhting else
The light of love...

Security Cameras and Privacy!!!

I want one in my bed room to prove my innocencse. Well there seems to be so many all around maybe we can have one in every home. Ok, i dont knowwhy we need one at the Raalhugandu surfing point, wel maybe we just dont understand the higher purpose of thto government and their plans of protecting the citizens of Maldives.

I mean a security camera in homes and being monitored by the Police means that here will be hard evidence to indict the theif.

I Love the Development of this Country.Traffic lights and security cameras...

Loosing Faith!!!

There seem to be so many kids n oyung poeple mislead into beleiving that the islam teacher in their tenth grade class was right about everything. Or being so disgusted about the teacher and what he told that they totally waver from religion.
WHO IS TO BLAME THAT WE GOT GOTHS AND WICARS AND CHRISTIANS AMONGST US?

Youth!!! Wake Up!!!

The last population cencus showed that the maldivian population has more than 35% youth between ages of 18 to 25.

So maybe the 35% should start thinking about their future in the Republic of Maldives.

Lets wonder if this country is ours or if it belongs to a group of old pharts.

IF WE WANT OUR KIDS TO HAVE A BRIGHT FUTURE WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOT THE PRESENT STATUS OF THE MALDIVES ISALNDS!!!
